Police arrest jilted lover for torching his girlfriend to death near Palladam

Police have arrested the jilted lover Lokesh in Palladam, who had torched his girlfriend to death after she allegedly refused to marry him.



Tiruppur: Police have arrested Lokesh, the jilted lover who had torched his girlfriend to death after she refused to marry him near Panapalaym in Tirupur district.



Pooja (19), was torched by her jilted lover in a remote area and was admitted to hospital with first-degree burns.



She was rescued from the roadside near Panapalayam in Tiruppur district and sent to the Coimbatore government hospital for treatment.

According to Police, Lokesh, who had taken Pooja to the forested area forced her to get married to him. When she refused he poured petrol on her and torched her.

Lokesh, who was also undergoing treatment at Palladam government hospital, was shifted to Tiruppur government hospital for treatment.



Meanwhile, Pooja, who was undergoing treatment at the Coimbatore Government Hospital, passed away yesterday morning. Following which the Palladam Police arrested Lokesh.

A murder case has been filed on the jilted lover Lokesh.
