CPI State Secretary Mutharasan demands State Govt. to probe Subashree's mysterious death in Coimbatore

Mutharasan was of the opinion that the Tamil Nadu Police should not soft pedal the Subhashree case and urged the Chief Minister M K Stalin to take action without hesitation.

Coimbatore: The Communist Party of India (CPI) State Secretary, Mutharasan held a press conference at the District Committee Office in Coimbatore to address the death of Subhashree, a woman who was reported missing after practising yoga at the Isha Yoga Center and was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a decomposed state, inside an agricultural well.

"Jaggi Vasudev, the founder of Isha Kendra is very close to the Central Government. The public has doubts that Subhashree's death is being concealed. Jaggi Vasudev may be influential, but all are equal before the law. The silence of the police is intriguing. The State Government should select a judge and conduct a thorough investigation. Only then can the massacres be stopped.

A protest will be held in front of the Coimbatore Tahsildar's office on January 6 demanding an inquiry into the incident, led by former MLA Arumugam. Isha acts as a proxy for many. The Communist Party of India (CPI) will take all initiatives in this matter by meeting other political parties on the Isha issue. The Tamil Nadu police and the District Police should not take a soft approach on the Isha issue. Whoever indulges in undesirable action on women is wrong and strict action should be taken against them," demanded Mutharasan.

Reacting to former AIADMK Minister and Thondamuthur MLA S P Velumani's remarks that the DMK's allies were slaves, Mutharasan retorted, "S P Velumani is the one who fell at Modi's feet. There is no slave like him. He doesn't deserve to talk about the DMK's allies."
