BJP cadres pay tribute by lighting lamps to PM Modi’s Mother Heeraben Modi

Coimbatore District BJP paid tribute to Heeraben Modi, who passed away today after a prolonged illness. The tribute ceremony was held at the Coimbatore South MLA's office. South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan, District BJP president Balaji Uthamaramasamy and cadres took part.


Coimbatore: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother Heeraben Modi passed away today after a prolonged illness. Many political leaders and the general public have condoled her death.



A tribute ceremony was held at the Office of the Coimbatore South MLA to pay homage to the departed soul.



Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan, District BJP president Balaji Uthamaramasamy and several BJP cadres were present at the event.



Shankar, a differently-abled person from Ammankulam, has painted a portrait of PM Modi's mother in the MLA's office for the tribute ceremony.



Cadres lit lamps around the painting and floral tributes were offered.

Speaking to reporters after the event, Vanathi Srinivasan said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother has died at the age of 100. On behalf of the BJP's women's wing, we offer our deepest condolences to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and their relatives.

The Prime minister's mother had faced a tough life and lived a simple life. Her life would be an inspiration for women who face hardship and poverty.

"We would like to express our gratitude to all the leaders of political parties and community for expressing their condolences," Vanathi Srinivasan said.

Talking about the portrait of the Prime Minister's mother painted by Shankar, a differently-abled person in the MLA's office, she said, “I came to know about him when I learn about the differently abled people in the south constituency”.



Vanathi Srinivasan said and added, "We would like to express our gratitude to him for drawing the portrait of PM Modi’s mother.
