Body of a youth found hanging on the banks of a temple tank near Vedapatti in Coimbatore

The body of a young man from Kerala was found hanging on the banks of on the banks of the Mariamman temple in Vedapatti. The police are investigating whether it was a suicide or murder.


Coimbatore: Singanallur Mariamman Temple is located near Vedapatti near Perur in Coimbatore district. The Vadavalli police received information that the body of a youth was found hanging on the banks of a pond near the temple.

Based on this, the police reached the spot and recovered the body and sent it to Coimbatore government hospital for post-mortem. They then collected the evidences from the crime spot.

The deceased has been identified as Vishnu (29), son of Durairaj, a native of Idukki Maraiyur in Kerala.

It was also revealed that he was staying in Peelamedu area and working as a CNC machine operator. Local sources have revealed he was in love with a woman from the same locality. It is said that the two had parted ways 11 months ago due to differences of opinion.

Vishnu, who was forced to fall in love again, went to the woman's house in Vedapatti yesterday and got into an argument and set the shop on fire. It was in this situation that Vishnu was found hanging and his body was recovered.

The police are investigating whether Vishnu committed suicide because of this or whether it is murder motivated due to the arson last night.
