Cyclone Mandous: Cold wave conditions throw normal life out of gear for the second consecutive day In Nilgiris

Due to cyclone Mandous, Ooty, Coonoor and Kotagiri have been experiencing severe cold conditions with dense fog, for the second consecutive day. Due to low visibility the motorists were forced to ride slowly with head lights on.


Nilgiris: The Nilgiris district has been experiencing severe cold conditions with heavy fog since yesterday morning due to cyclone "Mandous". Several parts of the district, including Ooty, Coonoor and Kotagiri, are experiencing severe cold conditions with dense fog.

Normal life in these hilly areas was severely affected due to severe cold conditions and people were forced to remain indoors. Major roads and tourist spots wore a deserted look as it rained most of the day.



For the second consecutive day today, the Nilgiris district continues to receive heavy rains accompanied by dense fog.



In many places, the thick fog impeded the visitbility in the road, due to which motorists suffered a lot. They were forced to drive at low speeds with headlights switched on.
