While a youth from a Northern state in India was arrested for selling ganja targeting students in Thudiyalur, the police also arrested five college students who were peddling ganja and seized 3 kg of ganja and four daggers from them.
Coimbatore: The Special Task Force (STF) police had received a tip-off that ganja was being sold near a private bank in NGGO Colony in Coimbatore district, targeting college students.
Based on the tip-off, the police conducted an inspection in the area. At that time, a youth from the north who was standing suspiciously was questioned and searched. The police found ganja in his possession.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the arrested person was Mukesh Kumar Patel (25), a resident of Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. It was also revealed that he was staying in the NGO Colony area in Coimbatore and was working as a labourer, and targeting college students to consume ganja.
It was also found that he was involved in the peddling of drugs by using college students. Based on the information obtained during further investigation, a raid was conducted by the Special Cell Police on suspicious college students in the Vellakinar kulam kaadu near Thudiyalur. On searching the rooms of the students, the police found ganja packets and daggers.

The arrested youth have been identified as Ravindra (21) of Kovilpalayam, Nandakumar (19), Dineshwaran (19), Dhanush (19) and Satheeshwaran (19) of Saravanampatti. All of them were second-year students of B.Com in a private college.
