Community suction pit and a library inaugurated at in Mavuthampathi Panchayat

A community suction pit and a library set up with the financial assistance of IIT Delhi in Pudhupathi tribal village under Mavuthampathi panchayat was inaugurated and put to use for public utility.



Coimbatore: The inauguration ceremony of a community suction pit and a library for students was held at Pudhupathi Tribal village under Mavuthampathi with the financial assistance of IIT Delhi.

According to a press release issued here, AJK College of Arts and Science located at Navakarai in Coimbatore has adopted five villages and is doing various social work activities in these villages.

Accordingly, the National Coordinating Agency of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Delhi), sanctioned funds worth Rs 1 lakh to AJK College of Arts and Science for the construction of a community soak pit in Pudhupathi tribal village under Mavuthampathi panchayat.



The inauguration of the community suction pit was held yesterday after the work was completed by AJK College of Arts and Science .

A.J.K. Dr. Ajith Kumar Lalmohan, Secretary, College of Arts and Science and Dr. E. Somasundaram, Professor of Agri-Business Development, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and regional coordinator of The "Unnat Bharath Movement", inaugurated the community suction pit and put it to public use.



This scheme is aimed at helping the people of Pudhupathi tribals to be healthy, free from mosquito menace like dengue, malaria, and live disease-free.

The people of the village welcomed the project and appreciated the execution of the project work.

Subsequently, under the Tan Man Dhan Yojana Scheme of AJK college of arts and science,the panchayat library was renovated and inaugurated the library.

Dr. Ajit Kumar LalMohan, Secretary of the College, also distributed books to the library for the benefit of the people of the village and the students of schools and colleges.
