District Collector Sameeran inaugurates Armed Forces Flag Day donation

Coimbatore Collector Sameeran inaugurated the flag day donation ceremony held in Coimbatore on the occasion of " Armed Forces Flag Day" being observed today to commemorate the sacrifices of the tri-service personnel.



Coimbatore: "Armed Forces Flag Day" is observed on December 7 every year to commemorate the sacrifices of the indian tri-services personnel.

The annual tradtion started in India since August 28, 1949 . On the occasion, flag day donations will be collected across the country.



All the proceeds will be used for the soldiers and their families and for the rehabilitation of soldiers who lost their limbs and life in the line of duty. It will be used to honor the martyrs and the men in uniform who valiantly fought on our borders to safeguard the country's honor.



District Collector GS Sameeran, earlier accepted the guard of honour given by National Cadet Corps (NCC).



Following the donations made by the District Collector, the officials working in the Collector's office and the general public also contributed to the fund.

Ex-service men will also be collecting the flag day donations across the country.
