City Corporation Commissioner Prathap, inspected the ongoing sanitary works, dengue mosquito contol and water supply works, and the construction of storm water drains in ward number 5 of Coimbatore East zone. He ordered the officials to expedite ongoing works.
Coimbatore: City Corporation Commissioner Prathap inspected the ongoing sanitary works, dengue mosquito contol measures and water supply works and ,the construction of storm water drains in ward number 5 of Coimbatore East zone.
Even as Corporation's sanitation workers are engaged in segregating and collecting biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste in Vinayagapuram and Church Street areas that come under the Easter zone of the Corporation, Municipal Commissioner Prathap, who inspected the site instructed the sanitation workers to create awareness among the public on how to segregate wastes into biodegradable and non- biodegradable waste.
Subsequently, he supervised the dengue mosquito control measures at Vinayagapuram and Church Street areas under ward 5 as the workers went door-to-door to pour abate into pots, removed unnecessary articles and detecting the presence of mosquito larvae in the water stored in households.

He instructed the dengue mosquito control workers to create awareness among the public about dengue mosquito eradication measures..

Later, Prathap, enquired about the water supply to the public in Vinayagapuram and Church Street areas, directed the concerned Assistant Town Planning Officer to survey the ramp structures erected in front of the house in residential and important areas in the area and remove the encroachments immediately.

Subsequently, the Corporation Commissioner inspected the site of the proposed storm water drain at Valiyampalayam at an estimated cost of Rs.18.60 lakhs and also directed the concerned engineer to prepare a project estimate for maintaining cleanliness of the public toilet in the area.
Councillor Naveen Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Muthu Ramalingam, Assistant Executive Engineer Sundararajan, Assistant Town Planning Officer Jayalakshmi, Assistant Engineers Kumar, Thirumoothi, Health Inspector Gunasekaran were present during the inspection.
