The Tamil Nadu Construction workers (Unorganised) Council petition Collector urging for Rs.7000 pongal bonus to construction workers

Pongal bonus of Rs.7,000 should be given to 40 lakh registered construction workers in Tamil Nadu. The council also urged the Tamil Nadu government to provide scholarships to their children for classes 10, 11 and 12.



Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Construction workers (unorganised) Council has submitted petitions to the District Collectorates across Tamil Nadu on urging for a host of demands.

As part of this, the Tamil Nadu Construction Workers (Unorganised) Council members visited the Coimbatore District Collectorate and submitted a petition pressing for various demands.



Their petitioners stated that all the construction workers 40 lakhs belonging to Tamil Nadu Construction workers Unorganised Council,in Tamil Nadu should be given a bonus of Rs.7,000 on the occasion of Pongal festival.



It further demanded that the process of receiving Rs.4 lakh given under the housing scheme should be simplified. The children of the workers should also be given scholarships for classes 10, 11 and 12.

HMS Peravai Vice-President Manoharan led the petitioners and urged the government to fulfil their demands immediately.
