More than 200 people participated in a free ophthalmology camp held at Vellakinaru Government School on the occasion of Udhayanidhi Stalin's birthday on behalf of the DMK in Thudiyalur area.
Coimbatore: To celebrate birthday of DMK youth wing secretary and MLA Udhayanidhi Stalin, the DMK in Thudiyalur, in association with the District Blind Control Society, Rotary Club West and Aravind Eye Hospital, organized a free ophthalmology camp at VCV Government Higher Secondary School, Vellakinaru.
The medical camp was inaugurated by DMK North district secretary Thondamuthur Ravi. In the camp, free screening was done by the doctors for eye infections, squint, water pressure, evening blindness, pus and watery discharge, farsightedness, myopia, etc. Those who needed surgery were taken to the hospital. More than 200 people from the surrounding areas attended the camp.
Former district council president Palaniappan, chief executive committee member TP Subramaniam, taluk secretaries, councillors Karpagam Rajasekhar, Pushpa Mani Arulkumar, Sumathi, Chitra Thangavelu, Shanthamani Pachaimuthu and others were present on the occasion.
