Three arrested for smuggling gutkha in Coimbatore - 350 kg of gutkha seized

During a vehicle checking near Kattoor, police arrested three persons, including two youth from the North India, who were smuggling gutkha, and seized 350 kg of gutkha from them.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore police are taking various steps to eradicate drugs, including gutkha and ganja, from circulation. Police have intensified vehicle audit and checking in the city and district limits.

Police from Kattoor police station were conducting a vehicle audit near Somasundaram Mill. At that time, they stopped a car passing by and checked it. It was found that the bag contained gutkha items banned by the government.



Following this, the police arrested two youths from the north India, Sujaram and Govind Meena, and Senthilvel alias Suriya, who were involved in the smuggling of gutkha.

Police have also seized 350 kg of gutkha and a car from them.
