District Collector Sameeran, who reviewed the ongoing flyover works at Ukkadam CMC Colony and the construction of an apartment building with 520 tenements, instructed the officials to complete the works expeditiously.
Coimbatore: The highways department is in the process of constructing a flyover from Athupalam to Ukkadam Junction Oppanakara Street at an estimated cost of Rs.121.82 crore.
The Ukkadam Attupalam flyover starts at Karumbukkadai on the Dindigul-Bangalore National Highway and ends at ukkadam market area. A 4-lane flyover from Karumbukkadai to Ukkadam Junction and a two-lane flyover from Ukkadam to Oppanakara street are being constructed.
District Collector Sameeran inspected the ongoing flyover works in Ukkadam CMC colony area and directed the officials to complete the works at the earliest.
Collector Sameeran also inspected the 520 tenements being constructed at CMC Colony on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board at an estimated cost of Rs 49.40 crore and directed the officials to complete the works expeditiously.
Following this, Collector Sameeran inspected the Ukkadam fish market to see if the fish were being sold in a hygienic manner and whether the shops were being maintained clean.
Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board Executive Engineer Venkatesan, Assistant Engineer and government officials were present during the inspection.
