Elderly man dies after being run over by state-run bus near Kinathukadavu in Coimbatore

Police have registered a case and are investigating the death of an elderly man who was trying to cross the road near Nallattipalayam when he was hit by a government bus.


Coimbatore: Palani is a native of Nallattipalayam near Kinathukadavu. He was trying to cross the road after consuming tea at a tea stall on the roadside in Thamaraikulam on the Pollachi-Coimbatore national highway.

At that time, a government bus going towards Coimbatore from Pollachi collided head-on with the elderly man unexpectedly. Palani, who was seriously injured in the accident, died on the spot.

The Kinathukadavu police rushed to the spot and recovered Palani's body and sent it to pollachi government hospital for post-mortem.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the accident. The incident has caused a lot of grief in the area.
