Having received confidential information, the police led by Assistant Inspector Thamaraikannan nabbed the three youth who were standing at the Chettipalayam railway bridge area near Podanur, and seized 1 kg of ganja and 2,500 narcotic pills from their possession.
Coimbatore: Based on a tip-off that narcotic pills and ganja were being sold in Coimbatore's Podanur area, especially near Chettipalayam railway bridge, the police led by Assistant Inspector Thamaraikannan conducted a raid in the area.
The police caught three youth who were standing in the area and interrogated them. Due to the contradictory answers given by all three youth, the police became suspicious and searched them thoroughly. It was discovered that the youth were carrying cannabis and narcotic pills.
In the first phase of the investigation, the nabbed youth were identified as Mohammad Yusuf from Podanur, Abdul Rahim from Vellalore and Syed Abu Tahir from Podanur. It was also revealed that they had been selling ganja and narcotic pills in the area.
After arresting the three youth, the police 2,500 pills, 1 kg of ganja and two-wheelers from them. The police are still investigating the youth.
