In Palakola Panchayat, the Nilgiris District Collector, S P Amrith who personally inspected the ongoing development projects being done at a cost of Rs. 4.40 lakhs, lauded officials for restoring the encroached Government lands and erecting a protective fence.
The Nilgiris: The District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) had sanctioned Rs. 29.40 lakhs for ongoing development projects in Nilgiris.
The Nilgiris District Collector, S P Amrith personally inspected the ongoing drain and cement concrete corridor work being done at a cost of Rs.4.40 lakh from Muthu Veedu to Babu Veedu in Indira Nagar under the All Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam in Palakola area of Udhagai Panchayat Union.
He then inspected works at P Maniyatti, and the ongoing cement concrete corridor works from Milk Society to Aldurai Veedu which were being done at a cost of Rs.3 lakhs.
He also inspected the newly-constructed works being done at a cost of Rs. 22 lakhs under the 15th Grant Fund Commission Scheme for the demolition of the damaged Panchayat Union Government Primary School building.
He also reviewed the fencing of the encroached and recovered land in the Indira Nagar area and appreciated officials involved in the tasks. The District Rural Development Agency Project Director Jayaraman, Executive Engineer Sujatha and other Government officials were present during the inspection.
