Radhika, the wife of constable Mohan sustained serious head injuries after being attacked by the wild elephant that entered the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) training complex. She has been admitted to a private hospital in Thudiyalur for treatment.
Coimbatore: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) training center is located at Kadirnayakanpalayam, near Thudiyalur, in Coimbatore district. Located at the foothills of the Western Ghats, this area has always seen increased elephant movement.
On Wednesday night at 7 pm, Radhika, the wife of Central Reserve Force JG Constable Mohan, was walking in the training complex when a lone male wild elephant suddenly emerged out of the forest cover and attacked Radhika. Bystanders rescued Radhika who suffered severe head injuries and was admitted to the CRPF hospital on the premises, where she was given first-aid. Thereafter, she was admitted to a private hospital in Thudiyalur for further treatment.
Meanwhile, the Forest Department officials were informed about the elephant straying into the CRPF premises. They immediately reached the spot and chased the wild elephant into the forest area.
