4 kg earthworm (sand boa) caught near Palladam

A 4-kg earthworm variety (sand boa), which was captured near Palladam in Tirupur district, was safely handed over to the forest department by the public.



Tirupur: Senthooran Colony is located on Palladam Mangalam Road. The people who saw the sand boa which is variety of earthworm crawling in the area was caught and kept it safe.

On receiving information about the incident, the public safely handed over the snake to the forest department who reached the spot.



Weighing 4 kg and 2 feet long, the earthworm was taken away by the forest department to be released into the dense forest.

It is to be noted that there have been instances of smuggling of iridium, an elemental substance inside the earthworm snake, which is worth crores of rupees.
