Coimbatore: Marudhan hails from Mottiyur tribal village near Karamadai in Coimbatore district. He is survived by his wife Chitra (23). They already have a son.
Chitra, who was pregnant for the second time, suddenly developed labour pain last night. They informed the 108 ambulance as it was raining continuously and the roads were in bad condition.
The ambulance staff rushed to the spot and took Chitra along with her and left for the government hospital. At that time, Chitra's health seemed to have started deteriorating.
As a result of this, when she came near Neelampathi on the Seeliyur-Tholampathi road, the pain increased and emergency medical assistant Balamurugan, pilot Arun and emergency manager Vignesh gave birth to Chitra.
She gave birth to a baby girl. The mother and the baby are doing well. The two were then taken to a government hospital for examination.
Praises are pouring in for the ambulance staff who gave birth to a tribal woman immediately in the pouring rain and saved her.
