Coimbatore car blast case: Police continue to be vigilant after case handed over to NIA

Coimbatore City Police Commissioner K Balakrishnan said that though all the investigation files related to the Coimbatore car blast have been handed over to the NIA, the city police is constantly monitoring it.



Coimbatore: A two-day training programme for police personnel on the use of drone cameras for detection of traffic violations and criminals in Coimbatore city has begun.

The camp was inaugurated by City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan at Gandhipuram. In the first phase, 20 constables working in coimbatore city police are being given a two-day training by five experts from the DG Institute of Drones.

Speaking to reporters after inaugurating the training camp, "City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan said that drone cameras are widely used in Coimbatore city to keep an eye on vehicles indulging in traffic violations, law and order problems and crowded areas.

The Coimbatore City Police already has a drone camera and police personnel are being trained on the applications to be updated and how to handle the new type of modern drones.

All the files investigated by the Special Cell police in connection with the Coimbatore car blast have been handed over to the National Investigation Agency( NIA).

However, the city police are keeping a constant vigil in the areas. Police personnel from outside the districts have been called to Coimbatore for security and have been sent to their respective districts.
