The police arrested three persons – Kishore Kumar, Dhanapal and Subhash – who were involved in the robbery by inviting a person through grinder app in the area under Thirumuruganpoondi police station limits.
Tirupur: The Thirumuruganpoondi police have arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in a robbery through a mobile application called Grindr in Tiruppur.
Through a mobile app called The Grindr App, they contacted the victim in his mobile number and called them in person and swindled money from him.
Some unidentified persons were introduced through the Grindr app on the mobile phone of Karthik, a resident of Ammapalayam 1st Street in Tirupur Corporation.
When Karthik went to the spot, Kishore kumar, Dhanapal and Subhash threatened him and took away Rs 90,000 from him.
Based on a complaint lodged by Karthik at Thirumuruganpoondi police station, the police arrested the trio and produced them in court and sent them to jail.
