Education should be seen as a stepping stone to character building, says Dr. Sheela Ramachandran at 6th Graduation Day of Sankara College of Science and Commerce


Sankara College of Science and Commerce hosted its 6th  Graduation Day. About 648 students who have successfully completed their under graduation programme students and 71 students who have successfully cleared the post graduate programme from this college during the last academic year, were conferred their degrees. Parents of the graduates, staff of the college participated in this Graduation Day ceremony.



Dr. Sheela Ramachandran , Former Vice chancellor of Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women was the chief guest for the ceremony. In her address she said, “Education should be seen as a stepping stone to character building to shape a student's personality.” She added that “As an alumnus, every graduate is experiencing his/her actual life. The learning process now must strive to transform the valuable information that they (the graduates) have gained to the sustainable development of the society and this should be their main responsibility.” she said.



At the Graduation Day, the young graduates took an oath administered by Principal Dr. H. Balakrishna to support morality, to uphold and advance social order or wellbeing of mankind.
