Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Commissioner, M Prathap announced that the public can contact the control room numbers to provide any queries and information regarding the monsoon. The review meeting was held in Coimbatore on Thursday, at the main office meeting hall of Coimbatore Corporation.
Nilgiris: Coimbatore: A review meeting was held with all the Coimbatore Corporation officials on precautionary measures ahead of the northeast monsoon, at the main office meeting hall of Coimbatore Corporation under the chairmanship of the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Commissioner, M Prathap.

At the meeting, the Municipal Corporation Commissioner said, "As a precautionary measure ahead of the northeast monsoon, various major canals and storm water drains of the Corporation have been desilted in view of the intensification of the northeast monsoon. Many more storm water drains have now been desilted and are ready. It has also been advised to use two additional high-speed electric motors to drain rainwater on the lower side of the Avinashi flyover and the Kikani bridge. At present, it has been instructed to monitor the quantity of surplus water released from Periyakulam and Valankulam and also to desilt the storm water drains wherever required."
"Coimbatore Corporation has been instructed to keep 500 sand bags ready, at the rate of 100 sand bags each for all the five zones. The work of removing the encroachments on the slopes of the storm water drains, roads and streets in the areas under Coimbatore Corporation is in progress. These works should be monitored on a day-to-day basis by the Municipal Corporation Town Planning Division and the slope encroachments should be removed. Further, the 24/7 control room in the Corporation's main office is functioning continuously to enable the public to provide information regarding the monsoon. The public can also contact the control room numbers 8190000200, 0422-2302323, 0422-23001322 and 0422-2300132 to provide any information regarding the monsoon," detailed the CCMC Commissioner at the review meeting.

Corporation Deputy Commissioner Dr. M Sharmila, Municipal Engineer Arasu, Zonal Assistant Commissioners Muthuramalingam, Sekar, Mohanasundari, Annadurai, Mahesh Kanagaraj, Town Welfare Officer Dr. Pratap Vasudevan Krishanakumar, Town Planning Officer Karuppathal and others participated in the meeting. All Assistant Town Planning Officers, Corporation Engineers and Corporation officials were also present.
