Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Prathap inspected the construction of health centres in Singanallur and Thulasiammal Layout areas of Coimbatore, as well as the work of segregating and collecting garbage by sanitation workers.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner, M Prathap inspected the construction of health centres in Ward No. 54. He inspected the work being done by sanitation workers who segregate and collect biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste in Singanallur and Thulasiammal Layout area under Ward No.54 of Coimbatore Corporation East Zone.
Following this, he instructed the sanitation workers to create awareness among the public in the area to segregate the garbage into biodegradable and 'makkah' waste. Following this, he personally inspected the construction of an urban health centre at an estimated cost of Rs. 25 lakh in the area and directed that the work should be completed expeditiously and maintain quality, as well as put to use at the earliest.
After directing the concerned officials to desilt the storm water drains in the area, he enquired about the water supply from the public.
Following this, he directed the officials concerned to desilt the main storm water drain at Singanallur and Kamarajar.
Subsequently, he directed the Health Inspector to desilt the garbage in the storm water drain on the Neelikonampalayam Main Road and also instructed the concerned officer to desilt the storm water drains in the main canal and crossroads in the area.
Corporator Bhagyam, Assistant Commissioner Muthuramalingam, Assistant Town Planning Officer Jayalakshmi, Health Officer Muruga, Assistant Engineer Kalyanasundaram, Health Inspector Gerald Sathyapunithan and Corporation officials were present during the inspection.
