Olimba Steffi, a third-year B.B.A student of PSGR Krishnammal College for Women in Coimbatore won a gold and silver medal at the National Level Athletics Championship held at Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh.
Coimbatore: The Athletic Federation of India organized the 2nd National Under-23 Athletics Championships at Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh. Various events including 100m, 200m, 400m race, walking, steeplechase, relay race, long jump and high jump were held.
Over a 1000 players from various states including Tamil Nadu, participated in the Championship. Olimba Steffi, a third-year B.B.A. student from Coimbatore's PSGR Krishnammal College for Women who participated in the Championships won the gold medal in the 400m race clocking 55.90 seconds. Similarly, in the 400m steeplechase, Olimba Steffi crossed the finsih line in 1.01.17 minutes to win the silver medal, with Pragyan Prashant Chagu from Odisha crossing the finish line in 1.00.28 minutes to take the gold medal.
The Physical Education Director, professors and students of PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, along with the public in Coimbatore lauded Olimba Steffi for her exemplary feat in athletics at the national level.
