Minister Senthil Balaji said Annamalai should be questioned by the NIA as he is disclosing information related to the investigation even before the police release the investigation report.
Coimbatore: A review meeting was held at the Coimbatore District Collectorate to review the law and order situation in the wake of the coimbatore car blast incident.
The meeting was chaired by Minister of Electricity Senthil Balaji and was attended by District Collector Sameeran, City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan, District Superintendent of Police Badri Narayanan and others.
Minister Senthil Balaji later addressed the media.
He said, "Within 12 hours of the car explosion, the car owner and the name of the deceased were found during the investigation. Arrests were made within 24 hours, so normalcy returned that evening itself.
The police have acted swiftly and transparently to allow people to celebrate the festival without any threat to the public on the day of Diwali and arrested the culprits.
It is condemnable that some people are reporting as if there is some tension. Some people comment with a narrow-mindedness. Some people with political motives are looking at the incident as an opportunity. The media should not allow that.
What happened is regrettable. The culprits have been identified and arrested. There is 100% transparency in this. The NIA has been recommended on the basis of investigation. No one has pushed us.
The man who tried to politicise the death of an army man is politicising the Coimbatore car blast today. BJP State President Annamalai is the first person to be questioned by the National Investigation Agency. The police will interrogate the suspects and identify the culprits and arrest them.
But, even before the police release the investigation report, Annamalai should be questioned by the NIA if he is releasing information related to the investigation.
If some people take what they say with political motives to the people, there can be tension. Did their party go and pay homage to the CDS chief at the time of his death? Did they ask you to investigate the accident?
It is said that a cow which does not go for a price locally, has gone to the market outside. That's how they try to do politics. They are politicising the car blast incident. They are trying to create tension among the people in the name of bandh in Coimbatore.
Thereby, they are trying to create tension across Tamil Nadu. Action will be taken as per law if people and traders are threatened or threatened in the name of bandh.
The nails in the car and the marble shells were separate. He didn't make it a bomb and explode it. This is the environment there. A proper investigation is underway into the matter. While under investigation, it is not proper to talk about it. We are going to hold discussions with the business bodies on the car explosion incident.
Annamalai has neither the maturity nor the understanding of basic politics. He is working with the intention that the DMK government will get a bad name.
The DMK is running a government for the people. They are creating panic among the people by comparing what happened 25 years ago and what happened now. We are monitoring the messages posted on social media. We will take action on that.
One party is politicising the car blast incident in Tamil Nadu. They are trying to gain political mileage in the parliamentary elections but the DMK will win all the 40 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
