City Police Commissioner awards medals and certificates to 184 women constables at PRS Police Training School in Coimbatore

Coimbatore City Police Commissioner, K Balakrishnan who participated in the valedictory function of police training held at the PRS Police Training School in Coimbatore, presented medals and certificates to 184 women constables who completed the training successfully.

Coimbatore: The valedictory function for 184 women constables trained at the PRS Training School in Coimbatore was held on Wednesday in which the City Police Commissioner, K Balakrishnan participated and accepted the parade of the policemen. Following this, he felicitated the police personnel who excelled in the training by awarding them with medals and certificates.

Of the 184 trained constables, 20 percent were school dropouts. Most of the women constables were postgraduates, engineering graduates and undergraduates.

The City Police Commissioner, K Balakrishnan also addressed and encouraged the women constables who completed the training. "This shows that the police department has drawn the talented and highly-educated. Educational qualification should not be merely on paper. It should be fully utilized for the Tamil Nadu Police and the service of the people. This training school was started in 1912. All the police personnel who have completed their training in such a prestigious school should protect the name and reputation of the Coimbatore Police Training School.

Constables who have completed the training have also been given training in guns which is very necessary in the present situation. But more important than that is the social media world we are in, today. Every moment we work, someone is monitoring all our actions; You have to work with care and training for this is as important as gun training. Cameras are stronger than guns. Every person who owns a mobile phone is a reporter.

So, let us not forget that everything we do is monitored. There is no need to do anything for the camera. We have to act honestly and legally only to fulfill the purpose of having been sincerely trained. Based on your educational qualification, there should be work to improve the technology in the police department. Instead of thinking that we have joined some work, we have to work every day, every moment, to see what we have done through our service," exhorted the City Police Commissioner.
