Following a tip-off that bribes were being collected from motorists at the check post of RTO, the raid was conducted under the leadership of Additional SP Divya of the Vigilance Department.
Coimbatore: The Anti-Corruption Bureau and Vigilance Department conducted raids at government offices across Tamil Nadu today.
Vehicles going from Coimbatore to Kerala were being checked at the transport department check post located at K.G Chavadi area in Coimbatore.
Acting on a tip-off that bribes were being collected from motorists, a team led by Additional SP Divya, Inspectors Parimala and Latha conducted a raid.
The raid started at 5 pm and continued till 7.30 pm. During the raid, it was found that there was an unaccounted cash of Rs.25,680.
Following this, the police continued to question motor vehicle inspector Easwari and assistant Yuvaraj, who were present in the office.
The police registered a case against the two and seized unaccounted cash of Rs.25,680 from the check-post.
