Former Minister SP Velumani chaired a meeting of the AIADMK office-bearers at the district office here today. More than 300 office-bearers attended the meeting, which was held to celebrate the 51st anniversary of the AIADMK.
Coimbatore: The 50th anniversary of the formation of the AIADMK will be completed on the 17th (Monday) and will mark the 51st anniversary of its formation. The AIADMK has decided to celebrate it in a grand manner across Tamil Nadu and steps are being taken for the same.
A meeting of the office bearers was held at the AIADMK district office in Coimbatore today.
Former minister, suburban south district secretary and Tamil Nadu opposition whip SP Velumani presided over the meeting held at the AIADMK district headquarters in Coimbatore.
The meeting was attended by more than 300 AIADMK office-bearers from the city, suburban south and suburban north districts.
Speaking at the meeting, former minister SP Velumani said “the AIADMK has achieved innumerable achievements in the last 50 years. It has been in power for 31 years and has come up with various welfare schemes for the people.
To celebrate this 51st anniversary, all flag poles of the AIADMK party should be painted. If the poles are removed to paint, it should be restored immediately. Wherever there is a possibility, new poles should be erected and a new flag should be erected.
Since the Coimbatore police is behaving like a DMK party worker, they will not allow to put back the poles if they are removed, so they should be careful.
The assembly session will be held on the 17th. Even if there are no MLAs, the office bearers of the council should hoist the flag. When a public meeting is announced, the AIADMK should hold it like a conference.
The public will also come to the meeting as there are protests against the DMK. Our IT wing is acting boldly. They should interact with the district authorities and act. The DMK has controlled the media and the IT wing should take them to the people.
Only Edappadi K Palaniswami is courageously opposing the DMK. There has been a sentiment since the time of Karunanidhi that if the DMK holds a meeting in Coimbatore, the government will be lost.
It was the DMK and the Congress that brought NEET. Our policy is that NEET should not come. However, it was Edappadi who brought reservation for government school students. The DMK has not done anything for the people of Coimbatore for the repair of roads. People are reluctant to take their demands to the DMK.
Stalin is the only chief minister who has not made any plans. Only the media is upholding this regime. If the media gives up, the regime will be gone. Bribery is rampant everywhere.
In the coming Lok Sabha elections, people are ready to vote for the alliance led by Edappadi K Palaniswami. We have to send home the bad, anti-people regime.
People are frowning on seeing the posters of the DMK. People love the AIADMK posters and we have done so much for the people," SP Velumani told the office-bearers.
Speaking to reporters, he said, "Every family has schemes brought by the AIADMK. DMK chief minister M K Stalin has not come up with any scheme and the AIADMK has given the highest growth in Coimbatore in 50 years.
In Coimbatore, people are unable to move on any road and corporation roads are too bad to travel.
This regime has to change and the people have decided to send this regime home. AIADMK will win all the 40 seats in the Lok Sabha elections.
Tomorrow, we will meet the Union Agriculture Minister in Coimbatore and submit a memorandum on the issue of fertilizers and copra coconuts.
Here its always the two-language policy. The BJP leaders have made it clear that there is no problem on hindi issue in Tamil Nadu. The BJP has made its stand clear. DMK-run schools should be asked to take Hindi.
The 39 MPs of Tamil Nadu are not doing anything, the AIADMK MPs stalled Parliament over the Cauvery issue and now the existing MPs are rubbing their tickets in Parliament. Stalin is the chief minister who cannot control anyone and his party members are not bound by the chief minister”
