The woman who contacted the Coimbatore Airport from her mobile phone stated that there was a bomb threat to all Taj Hotels across Tamil Nadu. After a police investigation, it was revealed that the caller was from THanjavur and the wife of a man serving in the army, and that she was mentally challenged.
Coimbatore: A woman spoke to an airline's office at the Coimbatore International Airport from her mobile phone warning airport staff of untoward incidents due to a bomb threat, and asked the staff to warn the Government to provide immediate police protection to Taj Hotels across Tamil Nadu, including Coimbatore and Madurai.
Shocked by the information, the airline's office staff informed the Coimbatore City Police about the woman's call. The police immediately traced the mobile number of the woman and launched an investigation. It has been revealed during the investigation that the woman caller was from Thanjavur and that her husband was serving in the army.
It was also discovered that the woman was mentally unstable and had made the hoax call to the airline office at Coimbatore Airport in an unstable frame of mind.
