While Rajamani, a 65-year old woman who was a resident of Purandampalayam in Sultanpet died on Tuesday morning due to ill-health, her husband Thirumalaisamy who was known to be inseparable from her died within three hours of her death.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore: Thirumalaisamy (80), a native of Purandampalayam in Sultanpet, Coimbatore was in the dairy business and lived with his wife Rajamani (65).
Due to ill-health, Rajamani passed away at 10:30 am on Tuesday morning at their residence. Thereafter, Thirumalaisamy was reportedly distraught and was seen sitting next to his wife's body, sobbing since morning. Suddenly, Thirumalaisamy fainted in his chair and reportedly passed away leaning back on the seat. The tragic death of both husband and wife in a span of three hours on a single day has left the bereaved family and people in the neighbourhood in a state of shock.
"The couple always went everywhere together. Thirumalaisamy never left his wife alone except for running his business. Now, in the final journey too, they have gone together as an inseparable couple," lamented family members.
The bodies of the inseparable couple were placed together and the last rites were performed on the same platform at the Purandampalayam crematorium by their sons Sivakumar and Balakumar. Family and neighbours paid tearful tributes to the inseparable couple.
