A man has been arrested for allegedly making friends with many women and impersonating other men in his profile.
Coimbatore: The YoYo online website is a popular entertainment app in today's smart world. Through this app, many people are showcasing their talents in various ways like acting, comedy and other such activities.
While the app is made for entertainment purposes, a man misused it by impersonating his profile with pictures of other good looking men and has conned many women. He convinced many women and extorted money and private pictures from them and threatened to share their private photos and videos and circulate them online.
Based on a complaint lodged by a victim, the police arrested Paramasivam in Coimbatore, who is a resident of Virudhunagar in Srivilliputhur taluk, and booked him under IPC sections 419, 420, 506(1) IPC, 66(C), 66(D), 67 of IT (Amendment) Act, 2008 and 4 of TN Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002.
