Due to heavy rains across Tirupur city on Sunday night, students and work-goers traversing through Mookambigai Colony and Amman Nagar areas faced severe difficulties due to waterlogging.
Tirupur: Heavy rains lashed Tirupur city on Sunday night leaving the city waterlogged. Due to this, students and those going to work were put to great difficulty, particularly in areas like Mookambigai Colony and Amman Nagar which fall under Ward No. 25 of Tirupur Corporation.

Since these areas are the main roads to Tirupur Mangalam, those going to school and work through these areas struggled to plough through the waterlogged roads, while some motorists even fell off their vehicles.

The storm water drain facility in Mookambigai Colony and Amman Nagar area has not been functioning properly. Therefore, locals in the area have now demanded that the Municipal administration should take up repairing sewerage and storm water drain facilities at the earliest.
