Acting on a tip-off that ration rice was being illegally stored in Kuttaiyur area, the Civil Supplies Protection Department (CRPF) conducted a raid and seized about two-and-a-half tonnes of ration rice.
Coimbatore: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Civil Supplies Protection Division (CID) received a tip-off that ration rice has been illegally stored in the Madheswaran Koil Road area near Mettupalayam.
Based on this, a team of police led by the Coimbatore Civil Supplies Protection Unit CID Inspector Maneka and Sub-Inspector Sathish Kumar conducted a raid on Madheswaran Koil Road in Kuttaiyur, near Mettupalayam.
During the raid, it was found that ration rice was being hoarded in an empty plot in Kuttaiyur area of Madheswaran Koil Road. Following this, 49 bags of ration rice weighing 50 kg were seized from the spot.

A case has been registered in this regard and the police are on the lookout for the person involved in the hoarding of ration rice. It is also being investigated as to who were the accomplices in this case.
