Speaking after attending a review meeting on forest department in Coimbatore, he said PM Narendra Modi is taking steps to increase agro-forestry.
Coimbatore: A special review meeting was held at the Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding (IFGTB) in Coimbatore. Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav was also present on the occasion.

Earlier in the day, Union Minister Bhupender Yadav inspected ifgtb's Plant Research Centre, Molecular Genetics Laboratory, Genetic Change Laboratory, Tissue Culture Laboratory and Tribal Centre.

This was followed by a review meeting chaired by him to highlight the schemes implemented through funds provided by the Central Government. The benefits of these schemes were also discussed.

Thereafter, the Minister highlighted various central government schemes. Speaking to reporters, Union Minister Bhupender Yadav said,
“The IFGTB, which functions under the control of the Central Government, has been carrying out various research essays effectively. The Central Government has shown keen interest in agro-forestry.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking steps to increase agro-forestry. Various research essays are being conducted for this purpose. The new findings from these researches will help in the development of the country and increase in agroforestry.
The Central government is taking necessary steps to prevent natural calamities in areas including Uttarakhand.”
