Puthiya Tamizhagam party leader Krishnasamy said that since Coimbatore city has been pushed to the 42nd position in the list of cleanest cities at the national level, they are planning to create a people's movement and bring it to the top spot.
Coimbatore: Puthiya Tamizhagam party leader and Thamarai World School principal Dr. Krishnasamy held a press conference in Coimbatore yesterday.
Speaking to reporters, “A people's movement will be launched to make Coimbatore cleaner at the all-India level. The movement is going to be run by people from all walks of life irrespective of politics.
According to a recent survey conducted by the Urban Development Department of the Union Government and released a list, Chhattisgarh has been named as the 'cleanest primary state' in India. Indore in Madhya Pradesh topped the list for the fifth year in a row, followed by Surat, Navi Mumbai and Pune.
Coimbatore, the largest industrial city in Tamil Nadu, has been ranked 42nd, followed by Chennai (44th) and Madurai (45th). The cities in the top 10 on the cleanliness list are the cities of the northern states.
Diseases like dengue, malaria, typhoid, etc., come every two to three years due to lack of cleanliness in the big cities of Tamil Nadu. So to make it a clean city, the air should not be polluted. Household garbage should be disposed regularly.

Excess waste water should be removed immediately so that it does not stagnate. These are considered to be the main aspects of cleanliness. Therefore, keeping in mind that Coimbatore has been reduced to the 42nd position, efforts should be made to make it cleaner.
Tamil Nadu, which is at the forefront of education and industrial development, lags behind in cleanliness. So there is not enough awareness among the people about the removal of garbage. If the cities are kept clean, the quality of life of the people will improve.
This people's movement will be carried out in areas like Panchayats, Municipalities and Town Panchayats in Coimbatore irrespective of politics. Within two years, Coimbatore should be made the cleanest city in India.
In order to achieve the first position in the 3rd year and achieve the goal of Thusilla Tamil Nadu and Masilla Coimbatore through Thamarai World School, a grand marathon will be held soon with the participation of all schools, colleges and social activists.
