The forest department is investigating the killing of two goats tied to a garden at Kalaiyanur near Anaikatti.
Coimbatore: Vijayan (63), a native of Kalaiyanur near Anaikatti in Coimbatore. In his farm in the same area, he rears goats and cows.
As usual this morning, Vijayan went to his garden and was shocked to see two goats lying dead under mysterious circumstances. There was a commotion as neighbours, farmers and the general public gathered there fearing that the cattle might have died due to any wild animal attack.

Acting on the information, the forest department reached the spot and conducted an inspection at the spot. When examining the tooth mark that bit the goat's neck and the footprints recorded in the area, it was confirmed that it was the footprints of the leopard.
According to the residents of the area, a leopard came out of the forest at night and entered the garden and beat up the goats.
As the public could not move out at night, the forest department demanded that the leopard should be captured with a bomb immediately.
