The TN Forest Department Coimbatore Zone and Wildlife and Nature Conservation Trust jointly celebrated the Wildlife Week Festival 2022 near Kallar Railway Gate on Ooty Road.
Coimbatore: Even as the TN Forest Department Coimbatore Zone and Wildlife and Nature Conservation Trust jointly celebrated the Wildlife Week Festival 2022 near Kallar Railway Gate on Ooty Road, 150 students of Kumaran College of Arts and Science formed a human chain along with social activists and the public for an awareness campaign on preventing roadkills in Ghat sections.
District Forest Officer, Ashok Kumar was the Chief Guest while Senthil Kumar ACFO, Range Officers of Mettupalayam and Sirumugai, along with the Department staff were also present at the awaeness campaign.
Activists from the social and wildlife front spoke at the function emphasising on the following:
# Drive within the prescribed speed limits in forest areas
# Don't feed wild animals.
# Don't try to take selfies while the animals cross roads.
# Never hinder the movements of animals while crossing roads.
