Employees in Small and Medium Enterprises in Coimbatore celebrated Ayudha Puja by offering puja to machines and putting up a 'pandhal' as a mark of respect to the machines that work smoothly for them throughout the year.
Coimbatore: Employees of Small and Medium Enterprises in Coimbatore celebrated Ayudha Puja by garlanding spanners, machines and pump sets with flowers, setting up a 'pandhal' and also offering puja to the machines.
Owing to the restrictions of the last two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Ayudha Puja celebrations were carried out in a subdued manner in Small and Medium Enterprises in Coimbatore.
This year, all the machines were decorated with flowers, fruits, sandalwood and kumkum.
Special pujas were also performed in various industry establishments for business success and for protection from various crises including rise in the price of raw materials, goods and services tax in Small and Medium Enterprises, in the years ahead.
Employees in the industries said, "It is our duty to give a day's rest to the machines that work for us throughout the year and give due respect to the machines. Companies should work well, fair wages should be available for all the workers and employment should be made available to all."
