Ahead of Ayudha Puja, street vendors were setting up stalls on trolleys in front of Palladam market and doing business. In this case, the Palladam municipal officials who came there suddenly said that shops should not be set up.

Also, an argument broke out between the peddlers and the municipal employees as the municipal employees tried to confiscate the peddlers' trolleys.

More than a hundred street vendors protested against the Palladam municipality's decision not to set up shops on the important festival day. Following this, they took part in picketing on Palladam NGR Road.
The police reached the spot after receiving information about this and held talks with the street vendors and municipal officials.
Due to this, the traffic in the market area was affected for a few hours.
