Coimbatore: Even as Tamil Nadu gears to celebrate Ayudha Pooja in its usual festive grandeur, a different kind of Ayudha Pooja in Coimbatore is catching the eye of one and all.
While Ayudha Pooja is performed for items used on a daily basis such as television, refrigerator, vehicles, and machines in factories, Coimbatore which is renowned for its 'kusumbu,' the 'milestone' on the road leading to Mukkali and Siruvani had banana trees tied around it with offerings on banana leaves, catching onlookers by both surprise and laughter. It is reported that the 'kusumbu' could have been initiated by the locals in the area or the youth in the area.
