At the state conference of TASMAC employees held near Masakalipalayam, various demands, including regularisation of work timings and periodic pay to the employees, were reiterated.
Coimbatore: The TASMAC employees' conference held near Masakalipalayam in Coimbatore demanded regularisation of work and payment of periodic wages to tasmac employees.

The state conference for TASMAC employees began yesterday at Harsha Mahal on Masakalipalayam Road. Will take place for 2 days. The conference demanded that the employees who have been working in tasmac liquor retail outlets under the control of the Government of Tamil Nadu for more than 19 years should be paid statutory and periodic wages.
The conference is being held to press for their demands, including proper protection for employees from anti-social elements. On the first day of the conference, a huge public meeting was held at MasakaliPalayam. The conference was presided over by S. Murthy, Chairman, Reception Committee. A John Antonyraj, district general secretary of the association and chairman of the reception committee, delivered the welcome address.
CPI(M) Coimbatore MP P Natarajan, CITU state vice-president E Ponmudi, TASMAC Federation president K Palanivelu, general secretary K Thiruchelvan, treasurer G Satish, CPM district secretary C Padmanabhan, CITU district secretary S Krishnamurthy, treasurer R Velusamy and others were present on the occasion.
In conclusion, S Ramakrishnan, treasurer of the reception committee, thanked him. Various resolutions and future operational activities are planned at the conference to be held today.

More than 200 delegates from across the state have participated in the conference.
