Kottur police are investigating the incident in which a 20-year old youth allegedly committed suicide after his parents reprimanded him for playing cricket with friends without going to work.
Coimbatore: Arumugam hails from Karaiyan Chettipalayam near Kottur near Pollachi in Coimbatore district. His son Murugesh is 20 years old.
It is said that Murugesh used to play cricket with his friends every day without going to any work. Murugesh's parents have been fighting against this from time to time. Upset over this, Murugesh decided to commit suicide.
Accordingly, Murugesh consumed poison while he was alone at home. Later, the parents who came home were shocked to see Murugesh lying unconscious and immediately rushed him to the Coimbatore government hospital for treatment.
Murugesh, who was in a critical condition, has been given intensive care treatment at government hospital. However, Murugesh died tragically as the treatment did not work out.
Based on a complaint lodged by his father Arumugam at Kottur police station, the police have registered a case and are investigating.
