Quarterly exam holiday begins for Government schools

For Government school students in Classes 1 to 5, schools will reopen on October 13, while other classes are scheduled to reopen on October 10. Coaching classes in 'Numbers and Writing' are being conducted for Government primary school teachers on October 10, 11 and 12.


Coimbatore: The Government has announced the quarterly term holidays for Government school students from October 1 till 12.

With quarterly exams in Government schools just concluding, the Director of Elementary Education issued a statement which declared that students' quarterly term holidays will begin from Oct 1 till Oct 12.

For Government school students in Classes 1 to 5, schools will reopen on October 13, while other classes are scheduled to reopen on October 10.

Coaching classes in 'Numbers and Writing' are being conducted for Government primary school teachers on October 10, 11 and 12. Since these coaching classes are being exclsuively conducted for the Government school teachers and attendance is compulsory, a holiday has been declared for the Government schools till October 12.

Private schools prefer to reopen on October 6 since there are no coaching classes for private school teachers. The private schools are awaiting a directive from the School Education Department.
