Naveen Kumar, a Class 11 student drowned while bathing along with his friends at the check dam. The Police and the Fire Department rushed to the spot and recovered Naveen's body and sent it for post-mortem.
Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, a Class 11 student of a Government school drowned in the check dam of Perumalpathi Temple near Alanthurai in Coimbatore.
The deceased has been identified as Naveen Kumar (16), a native of Alanthurai in Coimbatore. The boy reportedly skipped school on Thursday and went along with three of his friends to bathe in the Perumalpathi Temple check dam near Alanthurai. While bathing, Naveen reportedly drowned in spite of his friends' efforts to save him.

On information, the Alanthurai police and Thondamuthur fire brigade rushed to the spot and after a long search, Naveen's body was recovered and sent to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for post-mortem.
