Three private mini-buses for the convenience of students and employees of Banyan companies in Vanchi Nagar Slum Clearance Board areas were inaugurated, with services being operational from September 29.
Tirupur: With no proper bus service in Vanji Nagar Slum Replacement Board areas, the Tirupur Deputy Mayor and Zonal President initiated and inaugurated a private mini-bus service for the convenience of students.
More than a 1000 families live in the Vanchi Nagar Slum Replacement Board area under Tirupur Corporation. The area is home to several school and college-going students, as well as those who go to work at various places including Banyan companies. Due to the lack of bus facilities in this area, people had to walk for a distance of about 2 km.
Taking this into consideration after MP Arunachalam made a request, the Deputy Mayor of Tirupur Corporation granted permission for bus services on the recommendation of Transport Corporation officials.
