A fire broke out in the godown of a mattress manufacturing unit in Thamaraikulam area in the wee hours of Thursday. As the fire spread, all mattresses and raw materials stored at the factory were destroyed in the fire.

A privately owned mattress manufacturing factory is operating in Thamaraikulam area near Kinathukadavu. There are over 20 employees in the factory and raw materials needed to manufacture mattresses were stored in this factory.
A sudden fire broke out in the godown where the raw materials were kept early this morning. Since the fire spread rapidly, all the mattresses and raw materials stored at the factory were destroyed in the fire.
Firefighters from Pollachi and Kinathukadavu rushed to the factory to douse the fire and brought the fire under control.
The police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident.
