Nehru, who opposed the RSS, invited the RSS to participate in the Republic Day parade in 1963 with their full uniform. Should the RSS march be banned even after the High Court's order? asks MLA Vanathi Srinivasan. It is to be noted that Law and Order comes under state authority and TN govt has banned both VCK and RSS rallies.
Coimbatore: BJP Women's Wing National President and Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan has condemned TN government for denying permission for the RSS rally.
"The Tamil Nadu police has banned an RSS rally on October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, despite the Madras High court's recommendation. The government's action is highly condemnable.
Some political leaders are talking about the RSS rally in Tamil Nadu being held for the first time this year. The RSS, which was founded in 1925, was launched in Tamil Nadu within the next few years. In 1940, two people from Tamil Nadu participated in a training camp in Nagpur, where the RSS headquarters is located.
The RSS parade has been going on in Tamil Nadu since before independence on the occasion of Vijayadashami. It was held last year as well.
The RSS is a democratic movement registered under the Constitution of India, completing 97 years and entering its 98th year. The movement is gearing up to celebrate its centenary in 2025.
The organisation, which operates according to the Constitution, has the right to take out a procession and hold a public meeting. The taking away of this fundamental right is a fascist act of paralysing democracy.
At the RSS parade, its volunteers will wear uniforms and take the permitted route. A public meeting will be held at the end of the parade. There will be no sloganeering at the parade. There has never been any violence in the 97-year-old RSS march.
The RSS is not a political movement but a Social, cultural and patriotic movement. It's An organization that produces volunteers who volunteer to work for the nation.
That is why, the High Court also allowed the RSS march. The RSS has promised to follow the restrictions imposed by the High Court to the fullest.
So far, there have been no complaints of RSS violating court orders. There is no ban on RSS parades in any state in the country.
In this situation, the Tamil Nadu police's denial of permission for the RSS rally in violation of the High Court order is by no means justified.
Through such disruptions in Tamil Nadu, RSS cannot be curtailed and if someone dreams that the activities of the RSS can be paralyzed, it can only be a daydream.
Former Prime Ministers Pandit Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi have tried to bring down the RSS. I want to remind the anti-Hindu DMK government that the efforts of Rajiv Gandhi and others ended in a debacle.
Nehru, who opposed the RSS, invited the RSS to participate in the Republic Day parade in 1963 with their full uniform.
The RSS, which gave two prime ministers, Vajpayee and Narendra Modi, should be given permission by the Tamil Nadu police for an peaceful rally with such a background." She said in a statement.
