Police keep vigil at Tamil Nadu-Kerala border in Nilgiris following recent violent incidents in Coimbatore

The revenue department are keeping a close watch in Nadukani, Pattavayal, Soladi and Nambiarkunnu areas on the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border to prevent any untoward incident.


Coimbatore: In Coimbatore district, in response to the incidents of stone pelting and bottles filled with petrol and kerosene hurled at the houses and offices of BJP and Hindu organizations, the police are keeping a close watch on the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border.

In Tamil Nadu, petrol bombs were thrown on the houses and vehicles of BJP and Hindu organization officials, causing a great stir. Following this, commando force and other forces have been mobilized and security has been strengthened in Coimbatore.

Similarly, as a precautionary measure, the revenue department and the police are conducting joint vigilance in the Nilgiris district to prevent any untoward incident.

Also, the village administrative officer and the police are conducting vehicle checks at all check posts including Nadukhani, Patavayal, Soladi and Nambiarkunnu in Kerala borders in Kudalur area. Suspicious people are being interrogated.

Police are patrolling under the leadership of 3 tahsildars in Gudalur area when the police said that they searched the belongings of the passengers in a bus.

Village administration officers have been ordered to work till the 30th in rotation at all check posts. Vehicle inspection has also been intensified.
