We have arrested a person named Saddam Hussain in Thudiyalur area. We are looking for the one who came with him - Commissioner of Police Balakrishnan said they were investigating the possibility of their involvement in the petrol bomb blast on the 100-feet road.
Coimbatore: One person has been arrested in connection with the incident in which unidentified persons hurled a petrol bomb near the Coimbatore district BJP office in Siddhapudur area on August 22, Coimbatore District Commissioner Balakrishnan said.
Speaking at a press conference here today, Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan said:

The petrol bomb attack at the BJP office on V K K Menon Road in Coimbatore city at around 8.30 pm on September 22. The police immediately registered a case under two sections – Sections 153A and 285 of the Indian Penal Code.
While three special squads were formed to investigate the matter, based on more than 100 CCTV cameras, technical investigation and witness interrogation, we arrested a person named Saddam Hussain from Thudiyalur.
We are looking for the one who came with him. "We will send Saddam Hussein to judicial custody after the trial.
Saddam Hussain is in-charge of Thudiyalur area in PFI. There is already a case against him. We are also investigating that.
How did they plan and make the incident? Is anyone else involved in this? An investigation is being conducted on the basis of that.
Further, investigations are underway under Section 436 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and exclusive cases related to the incident.
Similarly, an investigation is being conducted to find out if they were involved in the incident that took place on 100 feet road.
So far, we have traced the culprits in three cases in the city.
